He appears as κυρὸς in the inscription on the cornice of the northern and souther walls of the central aisle of the Church of Saint Nicholas in Manastir. He was a priestmonk and hegoumenos of the monastery. He was responsible for the renovation of the Monastery and the Katholikon of Saint Nicholas in Manastir in 1265. Kapzas Begos Person Mentioned in the ktitorial inscription in the Church of Saint Nicholas in Varoš near Prilep from 1298. He had a wife, whose name was Maria. Misinopolit, children Group King Stefan Uroš IV Dušan confirmed and donated in the first charter issued for the Monastery of Treskavec the Metochion (and Church) of St. Demetrius in the lower town of Prilep, which was given to the monastery by the children of Misinopolites, with its fields, vineyards and watermills as well as with its fair to the same monastery (Metohь Svetii Dimitrїe u Prilěpě, što priložihu Misinopolitova dětьca, sь nivijemь i sь vinogradi i sь voděnicami i sь Kučьkověne selištemь i sь panagiromь i sь vьseju pravinoju togo). This means that the children of Misinopolites inherited the Metochion of St. Demetrius with its possessions and the settlement site or abandoned village (selište) of Kučьkověne from their father and donated it most probably to the Monastery of Treskavac after the Serbian conquest of Prilep. In the year 1343/44 King Stefan Uroš IV Dušan confirmed the donation of the Metochion of St. Demetrius in the town of Prilep with the fair, vineyards and the watermill to the Monastery of Treskavac (Vь gradě motohь Svetyi Dimitrie Misinopolitivь panagirь zadušnica Misinopolitovihь dětei sь nivijemь, sь vinogrady, sь voděnicijemь, sь vsěmi pravinami and Selište Kučkověne sь nivijemь, sь voděnicijemь, sь vinogrady, sь vsěmi pravinami).The second charter points to the fact that the annual fair, which was held in eternal memory of Misinopolites on behalf of his children (panagirь zadušnica Misinopolitovihь dětei) near to the Metochion of St. Demetrius in Varoš, bore the name of Misinopolites.
Misinopolites (Demetrios) Person Mentioned in the first (1334/1336), second and third charter (1343/1345) of the Serbian King Stefan Uroš IV Dušan for the Monastery of Treskavec. At his disposal was a nearly 9 hectare large estate, which lay – according to the context of the charter – in the vicinity of the estates of the Byzantine emperor and was sold by Misinopolites to the Monastery of Treskavec at an unknown date (kupenica ōtь Misinopolita u carevě zevьgelatii, kьblomь .r.). He was the donor of the Church of St. Demetrius in the east of the medieval lower town of Prilep (today Varoš). He sponsored the renovation and the painted decoration of this church. It is uncertain, whether the preserved portrait of the donor in the church itself and the donor inscription [δέ(ησις) τοῦ δού[λου] τοῦ θ(εο)ῦ Δημητρίου τοῦ Μησηνοπολήτου καὶ κτήτορ(ος) τοῦ ναοῦ] in the southern aisle of the western part of the church attest the Misinopolites or his son.
Po[lites?] Makarios Person Mentioned in the inscription from 1288/1289 on the door lintel of the esonarthex in the Church of the Holy Mother of God Pantanassa in Melnik. He appears as a κύρος in the inscription. He was a monk. He erected the Monastery Church of the Holy Mother of God Pantanassa in Melnik. He was also responsible for the fresco decoration of the interior of the church (ἀνηγέρθη ἐκ βάθρου καὶ ἀνιστορίθη ὁ θεῖος καὶ πάνσεπτος ναὸς τῆς πανάγνου Θεομήτορος τῆς Παντανάσης διὰ συνδρομῆς καὶ ἐξόδου κηροῦ μοναχοῦ Μακαρίου τοῦ Πο[...] ἐπὶ τῆ ποληχρονοίο χαρᾶ τοῦ κρατεοῦ καὶ ἁγίου ἡμῶν αὐθέντου μεγάλου βασιλέος Ἀνδρονίκου καὶ αὐτοκράτορος Κομνηνοῦ τοῦ Παλεολόγου καὶ Ήρήνης τῆς εὐσεβεστάτης αὐγούστης ἔτους ςψϛζ ἐντικτιῶνος β).
Sguros Progonos Person Mentioned in the painted inscription over the west door of the narthex of the Church of the Virgin Peribleptos in Ōhrid (now Church of Saints Clement and Panteleimon) from 1294/1295. He appears as a κῦρ in the inscription. He held the position of Megas hetaireiarches, 1294–1295. Progonos Sguros was of noble Albanian background. He belonged with all probability to the family of Scura (Sgura). His wife was Eudokia. He was the son-in-law of the Byzantine Emperor (probably Michael VIII Palaiologos). According to the painted inscription over the west door of the narthex from 1294/1295 he commisioned together with his wife Eudokia Komnene the Church of the Virgin Peribleptos in Ōhrid (now Church of Saints Clement and Panteleimon), at that time under Byzantine rule. He was holding the rank of megas hetaireiarches and was through his wife related to the family of Byzantine emperor (Ἀνηγέρθει ὁ θεῖος καὶ πάνσεπτος ναὸς οὗτος τῆς πανυπεράγνου δέσποινης ἡμῶν Θεοτόκου τῆς περιβλέπτου διά τε συνδρομῆς καὶ ἐξόδου κυροῦ Προγόνου τοῦ Σγουροῦ τοῦ μεγάλου ἑταιρειάρχου καὶ τῆς συζύγου αὐτοῦ κυρὰς Εὐδοκίας καὶ γαμβροῦ τοῦ κραταιοῦ καὶ ἁγίου ἡμῶν αὐτοκράτορος καὶ βασιλέως· ἐπὶ τῆς βασιλείας τοῦ εὐσεβεστάτου βασιλέος καὶ αὐτοκράτωρος Ῥωμαίων Ἀνδρονίκου τοῦ Παλαιολόγου· καὶ Εἰρήνης τῆς εὐσεβεστάτης αὐγούστης· ἀρχιερατεύοντος δὲ Μακαρίου τοῦ παναγιωτάτου ἀρχιεπισκόπου τῆς Πρότης Ἰουστινιανῆς καὶ πάσης Βουλγαρίας· ἐπὶ ἔτους· ϛ ω γ ἰνδικτιῶνος η). An epigram embroidered on an altar cloth in the thirteenth or fourteenth century and now kept in the National Historical Museum at Sofia seems to be a gift of the famous megas hetaireiarches and his wife (Δῶρόν σοι κλεινὸς μέγας ἑταιρειάρχης/ τύπον σῆς σταυρώσεως ἀνατυπῶ σοι/ ἐκ τῆς δοκούσης τάχα τιμίας ὕλης/ σὺν Εὐδοκίᾳ τῇ ὁμοζύγῳ, Λόγε,/ οὔσῃ Κομνηνῇ μητροπαπποπατρόθεν/ ἵνα λύσιν λάβωμεν ἀμπλακημάτων).

Prilep, Church of Saint Nicholas Place Description The Church of St. Nicholas is located in the medieval lower town of Prilep (today Varoš). It is situated a few hundred meters away from the medieval marketplace, at the foot of the medieval fortress known as the "Markovi kuli." It is a small single-aisled building with an externally three-sided apse. The lower part of the building is constructed with roughly cut stone, including spolia, while the upper part is built of stone and brick. The significant differences in construction and treatment between the lower and upper parts of the facades are the result of two construction phases. The frescoes inside the Church of St. Nicholas consist of two stylistically different parts, found in the altar apse and the nave. The dedicatory inscription above the southern doors of the church reveals that the frescoes in the nave were commissioned by Vego Kapza and his wife Maria in 1298. Architecture The first phase of construction: The high stone base belongs to the first construction phase of the Church of St. Nicholas (2.6m), made of rough-hewn stone of various dimensions and several rectangular marble blocks used as spolia. These are the remains of a small single-aisled church, built with rough stone. Parallels: In the older layer of the building, there are no stylistic or any other elements that could clearly indicate the construction period. The simplicity of their plan and the construction material suggest that they were built by local craftsmen. Similarities have been observed with objects of domestic architecture from the second half of the 12th century, whose remains have been found in the area of the present-day settlement of Varoš. Dating: end of the 12th century The second phase of construction: The upper part of the church, set on a high stone base, corresponds to the second construction phase. The predominant characteristic of the interior space is the dominance of height over the length of the church. The facade surfaces are entirely covered with ceramic plastic decoration. The quality of the exterior is emphasized by continuous horizontal bands made of various brick motifs, representing a distinctive feature of late Byzantine, and particularly Epirote architecture. A conservative artistic approach was applied, based on expressive means inherited from the Comnenian art, but adapted in a provincial spirit of the second half of the 13th century.
