Moštanica is mentioned together with the river Lukavica and the topographical entity Golěm Ōdrьn in the boundary description of Psača, which is part of the chrysobull charter for the Hilandar Monastery issued by the Serbian Emperor Stefan Uroš IV Dušan (Psačju sь vsěmi pravinami, a megja sela togo Moštanica kako pripada u rěku Lukavicu i do gde se izovrьša Moštanica i povrьhʼ planine nizʼ drumь kako spada posrěd golěmoga ōdrьna).
