Description
The Ardenica Monastery was founded in the 13th or 14th century during the Epirote Depostate. The monastery was renovated in the 18th century and it is suggested that Ardenica Monastery was built on an earlier christianised Artemis temple. The monastery had a very rich library which unfortunately was destroyed in a fire in the year 1932.
