Cetina, Church of the Holy Saviour | Place | The Church of the Holy Saviour in Cetina was built around 900 on behalf of Count Gastica and his wife Nemira. It fell to ruins at an unknown date. The Church is of great importance, because it has the only surviving bell tower of the era before the Great Schism (1054). Its a single-nave edifice with three (rectangular, previously semicircular) apses. Narthex has an upper floor, corresponding to the so-called westwork of Carolingian architecture. |
