Description
Iflak, or Vlae, was a village in Skopje Vilayet. Today it is a neighbourhood in the city of Skopje. In the Defter for the regions of Skopje and Tetovo, created between 1452 and 1455, Iflak/Vlae is a village with 13 male heads of families and 8 unmarried men. The names of the inhabitants are predominantly of Slavic origin (Dushan, Stanisha, Branko, Mirko, Vladislav, Miloslav). However, some names (Vlaho, Petru, Vlayko) could imply Vlach origins.
