Description

Tsar Constantine I Asen donated the hamlet of Popovijani with the village of Sušica, vineyards and summer pastures to the Monastery of Saint George-Gorg (Selo Sušica sь Popovijani sь selom(ъ), sь vinograd(i), s nivijemъ sь nivijem(ъ) (sic), sь planinami i sь vsěmi pravinami ih). King Stefan Uroš II Milutin confirmed the donation of Sušica by Tsar Constantine I Asen to the Monastery of Saint George-Gorg (Selo Sušica i sь selomь i sь popovlïani, sь vinogradi, sь nivijemь, sь sěnokosi, sь pašišti, i sь cerijemь, sь zimovišti i sь vsěmi pravinami).

Skopje Monastery of St. George 2 Source The Serbian King Stefan Uroš II Milutin (reigned 1282–1321) issued this charter after the refurbishment of the Monastery of St. George-Gorg near Skopje in the year 1300. He confirmed the donations given to the monastery by former Byzantine, Bulgarian and Serbian rulers. Finally, King Milutin also granted new privileges, landed property and population to the respective monastery.
