Description
The Church of St. Prokopije is mentioned by the Serbian king Stefan Uroš II Milutin in his charter for the Monastery of St. George-Gorg in the year 1300 and was most probably to be found at the bank of the river Serava on the eastern edge of the Lower Town of Skopje (ѡть пѹти светаго прокопиꙗ; ѡть црькве светаго прокопиꙗ). Its localisation was undertaken according to the context of the aforesaid charter, because watermills are mentioned in its vicinity.
